In Minneapolis and other US cities, ICE agents have used facial recognition technology without permission to track civilians who are exercising their constitutional rights. As the technology improves and integrates commercial data, it is becoming a powerful intimidation tool for the current administration's pursuit of autocracy. What can we learn from recent experiences in the US about how to use digital independence to resist the march toward authoritarianism?
